Frequently asked questions.

 FAQs

  • The first session is $150 and each session after that is is $125 for a 50 minute session.

  • I am currently an in-network provider for United Healthcare commercial plans, Kansas Medicaid United Healthcare, and Kansas Medicaid Sunflower.

If I do not accept your insurance but you are interested in seeking reimbursement for therapy services from your insurance company, with your request, I can provide you a “superbill” at the end of each month for you to submit. I recommend checking in with your insurance company about out-of-network benefits before starting therapy as each insurance plan handles this differently.

If using insurance benefits or submitting a “superbill” for out of network reimbursement, I am required to provide the insurance company with a diagnosis and may have to provide them with session notes or other details of therapy sessions upon their request in order to comply with insurance policies.

  • My office is in Overland Park off of Antioch and Santa Fe. The suite is on the second floor and is accessible by stairs or elevator. When you get off the elevator, you will make a right down the long hallway and the suite (207) is the last one on the right at the end of the hall.

  • The most important part of the therapeutic relationship is the relationship. I want to make sure that you are with someone that you connect with so I am happy to try and find you a referral for someone that is the right fit for you and your goals.

  • While I do offer virtual sessions, it is on a case-by-case basis. For some people, virtual therapy works well but others find benefit in being in-person. I do not offer virtual therapy sessions for children at this time. I am happy to adjust to virtual sessions for in-person clients in the case of inclement weather or illness.

Currently I am only licensed in the state of Kansas. If we are doing a virtual therapy session, you must be in the state of Kansas at the time of the session. At the start of each virtual session, I will verify your location. Some states have relaxed this policy during COVID but as a general rule, if you are out of state during your session time, we will need to reschedule until you are back in Kansas.

  • While this varies from person to person, I find it is helpful to start with weekly sessions to build the relationship. During the phone consult or initial session, we will discuss what frequency feels the most comfortable to you that will allow you to accomplish the goals you have for yourself, your child, or your family. We will periodically review your goals for treatment and adjust session frequency as needed.

  • It really depends on your goals and desires for therapy. During the initial session, we will discuss what what your goals are and how you will know you are ready to take a break from therapy or end therapy services. For some people, their goals are able to be accomplished in a couple of sessions, but others may have goals that are more long-term and complex.
